Good look at the other British troops involvedBy Jonathan Weller"Zulu War - Volunteers; Irregulars Auxiliaries" is an interesting look at the other half of the British Army during the Zulu War. While most envision the "Thin Red Line" of the Brits; these troops added depth and reserve to an invasion force already far superior to the Zulu warrior. The Zulu War is an interesting war of colonial-era England. Being from The United States; I personally benfitted from the English Colonial Model; however some would question England's dominance of most of Africa at one time. The term The Sun Never Set on the English Empire was literally no joke. It's absolutely amazing how a tiny nation like England controled so much of the world at one point in time. This book does the unsung troops of the British Empire some good; and it makes known their efforts and contributions during this particular set of engagements in 1879.This is recommendable for all people interested in this War; you can't go wrong with any info about this conflict!
