Not only does it follow the troops from the beginning to the end of the war; it names all the different men that served in the different Companies of the Regiment and their fates. The book is loaded with facts that are backed up in notes at the back of the book with the sources of the facts. Also included are many pictures of the troops and battle fields. I have also found this book to be of value to me as far as the genealogy of our family. There are three members of the 126th that are mentioned in the book that are part of my ancestoral family. One I knew about and the other two I didn't until reading the book. In my opinion this book is well worth the money to anybody interested in the history of the 126th New York Infantry.
