GoodBy mickRoughly 200 page work with endnotes and a bibliography for further study containing 5 essays that examine various reasons for the Confederacy's defeat. Compliments David Donald's "Why the North Won the Civil War" nicely.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Excellent HistoryBy BILLY4As a southerner from a family of southerners this book sheds quite a bit of light on the causes of the War Between the States. I enjoyed it and so did many others who have borrowed if from us. It not only helps people appreciate the times but also the causes of the problem and the war. It is not a blame placing book but rather an understanding presentation.
