Who Was Who at Waterloo: (Provisional): A Biography of the Battle (Paperback) - Common

DOC Who Was Who at Waterloo: (Provisional): A Biography of the Battle (Paperback) - Common by (author) Christopher Summerville in History

Description

It is not necessary to visit the Bay of Naples in order to witness a beautiful sunset. Our own atmosphere and our own waters produce those that are quite as gorgeous; while our own mountains and woodlands give them as worthy a setting as any in the world.

Review
4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Decent read for waterloo buffsBy danny boyThis book is by no means lavish. A soft copy with biographical details of numerous Waterloo participants and some perfunctory black and white images. It presupposes a working knowledge of the battle of Waterloo for a full appreciation. The author quotes freely from primary and secondary sources; making full use of all contemporary writers on Waterloo. There are no surprises in this book.Naturally as many of the participants were involved in the same incidents; there are numerous overlaps on the retelling of specific incidents; sometimes illuminating as to variations in the recollections; othertimes irritating in the repetitions.
