My mother in law (who is a pastor) referenced it to me last week when I mentioned that I was struggling with my faith and have been for several years. I haven't had the best experiences with going to church in my time as a Christian. Although I have had wonderful luck with church camps; youth groups and small groups-I've run into some people who have made me question what I thought I knew about God and Christianity in general. This book helped to reassure me that I'm not alone in a lot of what I believed the truth in Christianity to be. So I'm very glad I read it; it came at a perfect time and has helped me feel more comfortable about my beliefs and encouraged me to keep looking for some answers.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Perfect for new believers and mature Christians as wellBy Brenda B.This is one of the most honest; thought-provoking Bible-based books that I've read in a long time. As millions of young people today turn away from organized religion; we as Christians need to show them that we are loving; forgiving; humble servants of God; and not the judgmental; politically motivated hypocrites that some portray us to be. Pastor Hamilton has a wonderful way of bringing out biblically based facts that show us how to live; and explain to possible new Christians what living a Jesus based life is really all about.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Reversing the loss of young people in the church by self examination of our actions and Christian witnessBy Alta RalstonOur adult Sunday school class has done a few of Adam Hamilton's books. He has a writing style that is understandable and he raises a lot of challenging issues that Christian churches need to examine; discuss; and address. I like the thought provoking study and ideas that he brings out from his research. In this book he is addressing why many young people are leaving the church and the self examination that churches need to consider to reverse this trend and how we can be a better witness for our faith.
