Two Figures Ahead of their TimeBy Michael TaylorThe author uses Franklin and Whitefield to examine the role of the printed world in early America and the wider British Atlantic World. In essence; this is; in a way; a dual biography of the two men as they meet as one has become well-known; Whitefield; and the other is quickly making his way to the top; Franklin. The book is not meant to be comprehensive; but a exploration of the two men and the world they helped to create.2 of 6 people found the following review helpful. All OverBy ChristinaThis was supposed to be about Franklin and Whitefield; but there was hardly anything in there about them. The author seemed to use a lot of fluff to bulk up the book. Pure disappointment.
