3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A very good read;By V. TurnerI had heard of Raoul Wallenberg and how he disappeared after World War II. This book made me more aware of the great accomplishment he made. I did not know the extent of the service he provided and the lives he saved. It is lovely and inspiring and gives us hope to know that such selfless people live here in our world. I enjoyed reading it; even though the subject matter was intense and horrible. Now I admire Wallenberg more and realize what happened to him. I felt great empathy for his poor mother who tried to find him for many years. Wallenberg was a hero punished by the Soviet Union makes one wonder how candid Russia is today.I knocked it down from the 5 stars it deserves because the Kindle edition has many OCR substitutions that should have been caught in dates and words with apostrophes in them. This Kindle problem is not specific to this book but fairly common in any Kindle edition. Proofreading and correcting the obvious mistakes would make for a more enjoyable experience.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Read the book and meditate on injusticeBy Sarah SmithThis book had a lot if information that I had never read or heard. Even my husband; who reads much on WWII was unfamiliar. I appreciate the research that went into preparing the book. The ending was not fun and the officials of most of the countries involved do not come through looking very good. Even if the author may have overstated the case a bit; this is a story that illustrates misconceptions of that time period after the war. It is well worth the time it takes to read though you may find the end of the book a bit tedious.
