This explains the higher stages of spiritual growth in detail; insofar as that is possible. Most practically; de Sales gives necessary warnings; cautions; and advice to grow further. For those of us searching for "more" because we've read Teresa and John and Ignatius and...well you get the idea...but still seek more detail; more clarity; because we are experiencing things that are alluded to in the others; but not helpfully clarified; St. Francis de Sales is your saint. God bless the man for writing it and thank you Lord!!! for the english translation in my century!
