Sheela-na gigs are carvings of naked females posed in a manner which displays and emphasises the genitalia. Once thought of in negative terms only; they have more recently come to be regarded in a positive light. This book assesses their origins; discusses the contexts in which they appear; usually on churches and castles; their cultural influences and function.

TJ is my fifth great Grandfather on my mother's side and I do not know enough about him except from what my grandmother has told me. I was educated in Europe and have never studied American history! I can tell you just about anything that happened in English or European history but very little about my own as I have lived most of my life overseas. I am looking forward to learning from this book. Thank you to the seller for selling at such a great price and shipping so speedily.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great reference book with lots of essential Jefferson writingBy Tony H.Great reference book with lots of essential Jefferson writing. The book itself is made well with nice paper and a nice blue hard back. I think the paper jacket is hideous so I removed mine.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
