This polemic against Islamic extremism highlights the striking parallels between contemporary Islamism and the 20th-century fascism embodied by Hitler and Mussolini. Like those infamous ideologies; Islamism today touts imperialist dreams of world domination; belief in its inherent superiority; contempt for the rest of humanity; and often a murderous agenda. The author; born and raised in Egypt and now living in Germany; not only explains the historical connections between early 20th-century fascist movements in Europe and extremist factions in Islam; but he also traces the fascist tendencies in mainstream Islam that have existed throughout its history.Examining key individuals and episodes from centuries past; the book shows the influence of Islam's earliest exploits on current politics in the Islamic world. The author's incisive analysis exposes the fascist underpinnings of the Muslim Brotherhood; Hamas; Hezbollah; the Shia regime in Iran; ISIS; Salafi and Jihadist ideologies; and more. Forcefully argued and well-researched; this book grew out of a lecture on Islamic fascism that the author gave in Cairo; resulting in a call for his death by three prominent Egyptian clerics.

Thomas Jefferson; From Boy to ManBy Trent BurgosThere have been a lot of books written on Thomas Jefferson; and while I have read many of them; I have never read one that does a better job of focusing on his formative years growing up in Virginia than "Thomas Jefferson: From Boy to Man" by Jayne D'Alessandro-Cox. The book is extremely well researched and detailed; but yet still a lively read. The author's intimate familiarity with the places Jefferson grew up is obvious; refreshing and insightful. This book is a recommended read for anybody that considers themselves a fan of the Sage of Monticello.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Recommended !By ManijaNow THIS was an interesting read! I love colonial history; as well as historical biographies. My favorite colonial figure just happens to be Thomas Jefferson; and this author did an amazing job researching his early life! I read this book while stuck in an airport. Luckily; the flight was long; so I polished it off in one day. I love the idea of combining the journal entries with supportive text. This book was very well done; and I applaud the author for a job well done researching and piecing Jefferson's life together in such a fascinating way. Great read...well written Ms. D'Alessandro-Cox!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Recommended !!!!!!By MonicaI long for you to find success with this book and I believe it should be in every history class in America from High School up; as well as on best-selling lists; and on many bookstore shelves. I remember many days as a boy being in and around Jefferson's old stomping grounds in Shadwell. Fishing and running my small boat with electric engine; riding motorcycles through the woods; hiking; hunting exploring. My trips to Monticello always inspired me.... the grounds; the surroundings; the architecture; the dreams he held and worked towards on a daily basis. I did not grow up to be another Thomas Jefferson; but the boy within me still lives. Your book only feeds my dreams. What better thing could a person do for another than to inspire him to keep his dreams.
