Drawing from and expanding on the themes of Michelle Alexander's acclaimed best-seller; The New Jim Crow; this in-depth guide provides a launching pad for groups wishing to engage in deep; meaningful dialogue about race; racism; and structural inequality in the age of mass incarceration. The Study Guide and Call to Action spans the entirety of The New Jim Crow; engaging the critical questions of how we managed to create; nearly overnight; a penal system unprecedented in world history; and how that system actually functions - as opposed to the way it is advertised. This important new resource also challenges us to search for and admit the truth about ourselves; our own biases; stereotypes; and misconceptions; and the many ways in which we might actually be part of the problem.

Doesn't work an no refund options for this rentalBy Angel MelvinThe book is not compatible with the PC kindle app (it keeps saying "title not available for Windows 8" on a Windows 10 laptop) We can't read it in a browser either. There are NO options of "returning" it early and getting a refund; nor contacting customer support directly about this issue. It would be great if there was at least a contact option to get help or a refund. Very disappointed.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. great productBy RAFAEL HUERTAgreat product0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. which is fine I guess so long as I don't get blamed ...By Mark HewittThis book was missing several pages which I photo -copied from my professor. A whole lot of highlighting and scribble; which is fine I guess so long as I don't get blamed for it.
