Much needed historyBy rhaticanAs one who has attempted to piece together why Communism failed; I was always mystified by the high incidence of its opponents' citing "godlessness" as the main; if not sole; reason. Till now. Prof. Herzog sheds much needed light on the great extent to which our leaders in government; business (including; of course; advertising); and entertainment deliberately chose to emphasize America's religiosity as a means of fighting the Cold War.
