Re-United States was written before Gerzon's similarly titled book; and unfortunately; has not received the press "push" that Gerzon did. A pity; because this is a better book. While Gerzon's book is decent; it doesn't dare to tread into the "politically incorrect" as Weisman's does. That honesty is the essence of Weisman's worth as a writer; and the worth of Re-United States. Maybe that's what's holding back Weisman's book; seems many in the media don't like even touching something that touches upon viewpoints or facts we just don't want to acknowledge; such as the fact that profiling is an effective tool against terrorism. (ask Israel). Or maybe that Weisman is Jewish automatically; is some person's minds; nullifies his credibility. Obviously; I can't know. I just know this book should be read by millions; not thousands; because it would break open a dialogue that would go beyond convenient "political politeness" and produce some concrete change for the better.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. His holocaust history gives warnings of futures unthinkable. This is a great book for anyone who is interested in how the ...By RandallThis is a great book for anyone who is interested in how the world; and particularly the middle east; has evolved with regard to Islamic Extremism. Dr. Weisman provides an excellent summary of Christianity; Judaism and Islam and he breaks down the significant historical events in the mid east that shaped our world. He ends by providing insightful ideas about how we can survive this dangerous time. His call for Americans to drop their political identities and pull together as a nation is dead on.
