The Accidental Anarchist is the true story of Jacob Marateck; an Orthodox Jew who was sentenced to death three times in the early 1900s in Russia -- and lived to tell about it. He also happens to have been the author's grandfather. The book is based on the diaries that Marateck began keeping in 1905. That was when he decided to overthrow the Czar . . . The story is told in Marateck's voice; and is characterized by his remarkable humor and irony that contrasted with the circumstances and were key to his survival. It includes a rare; soldier's-eye view of a little-known war that changed the geopolitical status of several nations.

She endured the horror of being at the assassination and then pushed aside. She was hated by both sides in the Civil War. In the end her only surviving child had no sympathy. Today's meds and therapy would have helped her through her PTSD.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. MTL deserves better treatment for her contributions to United States historyBy Sue A RebmanInteresting solution to MTL's often condemned personality; by then society and historians; that stands up to today's medical knowledge of her symptoms.MTL deserves better treatment for her contributions to United States history. She knew her destiny as a child; took steps to ensure her preparedness through education; social networking and familial ties to meet the man who would grow into the role of President; and stood faithfully by his side through all to the very end. Amazing woman; especially given her undiagnosed health issues and ignorant medical censure of the times.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Highly recommended!By Myra McWethyOne of the most fascinating reads yet about Ms. Lincoln! Honestly; as someone who is doing research into MTL; this is one of the most interesting reads; bringing together all the medical facts in a scientific; yet totally engrossing read. Highly recommended!
