Combining brilliant military analysis with rich narrative history; Landscape Turned Red is the definitive work on the Battle of Antietam. The Civil War battle waged on September 17; 1862; at Antietam Creek; Maryland; was one of the bloodiest in the nation's history: on this single day; the war claimed nearly 23;000 casualties. Here renowned historian Stephen Sears draws on a remarkable cache of diaries; dispatches; and letters to recreate the vivid drama of Antietam as experienced not only by its leaders but also by its soldiers; both Union and Confederate; to produce what the New York Times Book Review has called "the best account of the Battle of Antietam."Â

Must read; choice is the greatest gift; choose to read this bookBy Kyle KWe all have the powers the author writes about; it is our choice that sparks this power from within. I read from someone else that this book came at a perfect time; following previous books that led up to this book to have the information come whole circle. I have also found this to be true. Therefore; if you feel the slight tug to read this book; choose to listen and read; you will benefit greatly. This book is extended for a certain "crowd" or niche people. And with any luck; we will find our future global leaders from the this niche crowd!2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Glad I bought itBy greg bakerWhat a surprise this book was. If your mind is open enough to accept the concepts and practices the author talks about you will really enjoy this book like I did. It validates an idea I've wanted to see in print for a long time which is you can be into all kinds of new age spiritual yoga hippy stuff and be a badass warrior at the same time. The author of this book shows you exactly that. This book is not a typical ex-seal story of gunfights and adventures; although it has a bit of that as well. Rather it presents to you the idea of using the power of love; meditation; intuition; etc to be a protector capable of extreme violence if needed.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. ReservationsBy ChiefAs a Christian Believer; I have absolute faith in the power of love. As a person possessing a measure of logic and experience; I crave substantiation of the author's professed wartime experiences. As one who has enjoyed many narratives of personal effort and challenge; I confess that I have never heard of the author or his exploits. To his credit; his writing is captivating. It would be nice to know more; because deep down; I think we all would like it to be "f' real."
