Best of Its KindBy CustomerPaul Gifford has successfully presented the history of the hammered dulcimer in North America from the 1600's to the present. Full of photographs; illustrations; tuning charts; etc.; this history effectively informs those interested in this beautiful traditional instrument about its history and its many variations. As the proprietor of Ardie's Handcrafted Hammered Dulcimers; I frequently get asked about old hammered dulcimers; and this is my first and primary reference tool. Well worth the price.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Happy CustomerBy MusicianI am happy with the product that I received. It was the book The Hammered Dulcimer by Paul Gifford. A lot of information to absorb.By Kathie Henderson-CampbellI have not had much time to read this book; but so far it has lived up to everything I have heard about it. This book is not for most readers. I think you would have to know; play and love this instrument to understand the informational breakthough this book provides. All musicians love their instruments and each instrument has a marvelous history. Thanks Paul for writing ours!
