You get an overview about the intentions; actions and Problems of the French Navy in the various phases of the second world war; in most of the cases looking into Details. There are in this edition some new facts and additional aspects to the Topic; but looking at the long time since the first Edition of this book and the volume of the historical Research in this period you would have expected more new insights and facts. But all in all the book is a good Information in General about the fate and fame of the French Navy in a really difficult period.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. HunsingerThe information is better collected here than in subsequent volumes. My only concern is the obvious desire of the authors to justify their accounts during the war. It gets in the way of telling their version of the story. Still in all; a very good account of the subject material.
