After all; Jerry Crandall has two outstanding volumes (Fw 190 Dora Volume One and The Fw 190 Dora Vol. Two) that cover the subject in extreme detail. The folks at a certain Czech publisher have their own two-volume set on camouflage and markings (FW-190D Camouflage and Markings - Part I and FW-190D Camouflage Markings - Part II) for the 190D. Then there is Thomas Hitchcock's book The Ta 152. What's left to cover? Well; not all that much; but for the price; you get pretty much all anyone needs to know. But the added attraction here is a comprehensive set of kit reviews for just about every single model; in any scale; of the entire 190D/152 family. An entire section of the book is dedicated to building a collection - which kits and aftermarket sets give you the most accurate model of the subtypes. There's a 14-page section showing the specific differences between the variants; from the Fw 190 V17 (D-series prototype) through the Ta 152 V9 (Ta 152E-series prototype). There's a 24-page section of color photographs and line drawings of details; including many photos of the Air Force Museum's 190D-9; the restored D-13 at the Flying Heritage Collection in Seattle; and the Ta-152H in storage at Silver Springs; Maryland. But wait; there's more! A complete listing of resin and photoetch accessories and of all aftermarket decals is also included for reference. This book also includes a comprehensive bibliography on the subjects; and to top it all off; 1/48 scale line drawings of the 190D and of the Ta 152H. That's a lot of bang for anyone's modelling dollar; and I welcome it to my already full reference shelf.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Concise; thorough; technical; includes kit reviews/color profiles.By D. PowersAs a modeler/military aviation enthusiast; and as another one who's 'newest love' is the 'Dora'; I found this book very helpful. The kit reviews are interesting and thorough. As the other book reviewers have noted; the technical prototype data is also very detailed. What I wasn't sure about was if there were any color profiles; and yes; there are a few good ones.Incidentally; as mentioned; the other reviewers are much more informed on the subject than I am; but I also just read Willi Reschke's JG301/302 autobiographical book; which included some Fw/Dora/Ta152 operational history from a first-hand perspective; and it was fascinating.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Excellent ReferenceBy Reinaldo L. AndujarI have read almost every published text on the Focke Wulf FW190D series from the pioneering Profiles till now. I have several other books on this aircraft but this is one of the best book regarding the technical details of the aircraft ever. This is the reference for working with all the 1/32d scale models of the FW190D and Ta 152 series. This was exactly what I was looking for since I have a collection of pre-built FW190Ds in 1/32 scale and want to improve their appearance.
