This work attempts to present Rumi to the English-speaking world and to shed light on his life as seen from within the Islamic mystical tradition. The knowledge presented in this work comes from Sefik Can; a great expert of Rumi and who used to be the highest authority; Sertariq; of the Mevlevi Sufi order in Turkey until he passed away on January 24; 2005. Two aspects of this work make it unique. The first is that the book was originally authored by a man who is ninety five years old and who has dedicated his entire life to the teachings of Rumu. Such a Mevlevi's view of Rumi makes this work greatly valuable. The second important contribution to the book is the foreword; which was translated by from the original turkish; written by M. Fethullah Gulen; a prominent Muslim thinker and interfaith activist of Turkey.

CliftonIn this book Senator Cory Bernardi outlines a very convincing case for the morality; stability and infrastructure of Conservative policies as opposed to the collective and rigid dogma of the Left which caters “to the satisfaction of personal appetites†resulting in a general decline in society and its morality. Bolsheviks and Zionists among many others have repeatedly endeavoured to create an elusive paradise on earth. In this book Cory Bernardi very rightly acknowledges that this type of society is impossible to attain in this modern increasingly globalized world in which we live. This is true because the very nature of humanity with all its needs and conflicts will never allow this to take place. This book repeatedly conveys in a powerful manner the theme of a very temporal and fleeting Left using agenda that is based on theory alone and which has proven to be ultimately unsuccessful in places such as the former USSR and Eastern Europe and is at present crumbling in China and which constitutes a murderous and highly dysfunctional government in Norht Korea as opposed to the permanent nature of established and well tested Conservative principles involving family and social values. He explains to us that the search for an elusive earthly paradise has led to a modern moral relativism in which whether or not a particular thing is right or wrong is only relative to the way that you think. An excuse can be found for accepting any action no matter how bad or morally repugnant it may be. Cory Bernardi says that this creates “a society where there is an excuse for everything and responsibility for nothingâ€. These “Radicals†in Australian Society as he calls them can always find an excuse for illegality and immorality as long as the perpetrators support the Left. He advocates a return to basic Conservative principles regarding such areas as family values; marriage; same-sex marriage and abortion on which he has questioned the morality of granting human rights to great apes while at the same time denying the rights of unborn children. There are Conservative governments now in power in the USA; Great Britain and Germany and countries such as France; Holland and Sweden are all beginning to field strong Conservative political parties some of whom are poised in preparation to gain power and by contrast Cory Bernardi considers that the conservative Liberal Party of Australia has lost its way and is beginning to drift to the Left in such areas as immigration; same-sex marriage and family values. An answer to this is to form his own Australian Conservatives Party. The election of Gough Whitlam and his Australian Labor Party in 1972 saw the beginning of an era in Australia “in which the wisdom of the ages†was “replaced by momentary fads and quick fixesâ€. Perhaps people such as Cory Bernardi and his established Conservative principles can contribute in some way to reversing this situation.Tim Clifton.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Conservatism revisitedBy MichaelBernadi writes coherently arguments for what he calls the conservative revolution. What he actually describes is the decent life my generation saw our parents living; caring for the needy and supporting their parents. We would do well to return to such values today and abandon unproven socially engineered alternative life styles.
