Enemy of my enemy is a friendBy Prospector JimMy great grandfather; I was told; expressed the hope that Germany would beat England; at at the start of WW1. So; they would get payed back for all his friends that were killed by English weapons; used by the South during the Civil War. I imagine his stay in Andersonvlle Prision did not help the attitude. I still have the Tower Enfield Musket that he brought home from the war as proof the English were our enemy's. As this book shows; it was nothing personal and despite the caricature of the Southern emissaries; Europe hoped to reduce its trading competition by splitting America in two. Also; there was money to be made! Please remember; that all these people were Americans and are once again Americans; Politics Live On!And; Europe is still Europe (EU).0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
