But one theme links all of these subjects like a thread of gold - the intense spiritual and personal bond with all his fellow Jews; that is of the essence of the very concept of Rebbe.The six English volumes that comprise this classic work were translated by Uri Kaploun from the original Hebrew and Yiddish. The newly-published Volume VI includes a number of unique documents; which were written by the Rebbe Rayatz and by other contemporary hands but did not appear in the Hebrew/Yiddish volumes as originally published. They now appear here in English for the first time.Volume VI also provides supplementary background resources for the entire set; including: a Biographical Index; an Index of Place names and Subject Index; a map; a biographical outline of the author; a partial family tree of the author`s forebears; and a chronological listing of all the talks and letters that appear in all six volumes; with page references.

Good account of forgotten Civil War battleBy Phil HistorianThe history of the American Civil War remembered by most people is Lee; Grant; Lincoln; Jackson; Gettysburg; Shiloh; and Antietam. however very few casual readers and non-historians know about the 1862 Confederate Texan invasion of Union Arizona and New Mexico to add the area to the Confederacy; as the Union in the territories were tied down fighting hostile Indian tribes who lived there. I would not call Gloreita the Gettysburg of the west; as that title belongs more deservedly to Vicksburg; Shiloh; or even Westport. however this is a good account of the battle that defeated the Confederacy in the Southwest; some little known US Civil War history.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
