Alone among books for the regional geography course; Pulsipher and Pulsipher’s World Regional Geography humanizes geographical issues; showing how larger geographical forces affect the lives of individuals and communities around the globe. Students explore the field's defining concepts by focusing on the stories of real people; global trends and interregional linkages; and contemporary topics that transcend regional borders (the war on terrorism; global political order; interregional trade; the global economy; popular culture; the environment; and the Internet).Along with a thorough updating; this edition introduces several new features that will help students explore geography across regions; while enhancing the book's standing as the most highly visual textbook for the world regional course. In addition; W. H. Freeman is proud to announce LaunchPad for Pulsipher/Pulsipher; World Regional Geography; the only online course/homework system for geography to feature adaptive quizzing—via Freeman's highly acclaimed LearningCurve.

Aside from attending school again after a few years off; I was happy with this book. It came promptly and was in brand new condition. I'm halfway through my semester and it has served me very well thus far.Pros: Brand new condition and shipped promptlyCons: It won't read itself or do my homework; let alone take my tests for me.Bottom line: If you're in need of a book by this publisher; this was a reliable source for me to get it from. Of course; because I didn't order the book till the last minute; I didn't shop around to see if there was a better price. It came with 2 day shipping with my trial Student Membership - Just remember to cancel before the trial ends if you're not going to keep it. Otherwise you'll be charged for it. Not bad; not greatBy CustomerIt's a history text book; it compresses roughly 170 years into less than 1000 pages; so things naturally get glossed over or only vaguely mentioned. My main complaint is in the way it breaks things up; it will take a 25 year time period and attempt to break it up into subsections such as; politics; business; conflict; etc. Anyone with even a vague understanding of history knows that all of those topics are intrinsically intertwined and impossible to break apart without making things a bit disjointed and fractured. It is what it is.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I still don't see the point of mandatory textbooks.
