Nice Basics; Nice IntroductionBy Bruce W SimsI think the strength of this book is that it pulled together bits of information I have found in diverse places all under one cover. That said I must report that I found nothing new or startling in its content. The narrative is well-written and probably targets a late High School or early College population. The illustrations; while period correct; lack the detail I was seeking for my own research. In this way; the pictures were comparable to fuzzy; sepia-toned photos I have strained over for some time now. While it may seem possible to cover a span of thirty years in a single book; the variety of environments; combatants; leaders and belief systems almost demand that a separate book be written for each separate theatre. In this way; the conflicts in the Southwest; the Central Plains and the Northern Plains could be given their due.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
