They want and Arm and a Leg. That is just plain Greed. This book is part of my family History. It's amazing to read the Woman's Point of View. It's totally a different perspective of a Man's thoughts. Both tetimonios of a Man and a Woman are crucial. This Book is Worth it to have in any Historians or Descendants collection.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Alta California history from women's perspectiveBy wasabinoirA great collection of newly translated transcriptions from a generation of women who witnessed dramatic events in California's history. Included is a several page narrative of my great; great; great; great; grandmother; Juana Machado.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. InformativeBy Audrey B. HarthcockIt is amazing to read what women said about their lives so long ago. Doing research for a book drove me to history narratives and this is a good one. It comes through as true voices and opinions that the interviewer did not anticipate. Seems very authentic.Testimonios: Early California through the Eyes of Women; 1815-1848
