This is a book that I am glad to have read. It is scholarly yet entirely approachable and clear. It is well researched with an impressive list of contributors; yet not so jargon rich as to to obscure its points and messages. I thought I had a fair grasp on the subject of slavery in America; I have had my eyes opened to broader horizons and deeper understandings.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
