Shipcraft 12 - Essex Class Aircraft Carriers of the Second World War

DOC Shipcraft 12 - Essex Class Aircraft Carriers of the Second World War by Steve Backer in History

Description

These stories have the effect of bringing the saints to life as real people. In the course of reading these stories we happen upon many fascinating cultural and historical topics; such as the Christianization of Roman holidays; the symbolism behind the monk's tonsure; Nero's "pregnancy;" and the reason why chaste but hot-blooded women can grow beards. At the same time these stories draw abundantly on Holy Scripture to shed light on the mysteries of the Christian faith. Table of Contents: Joshua; Saul; David; Solomon; Rehoboam. Job; Tobit; Judith; St. Andrew; St. Nicholas the Bishop; The Blessed Virgin; SS Gentian; Fulcian; Victorice; S. Nicasius; St. Thomas the Apostle; St. Anastasia; S. Eugenia; S. Stephen Protomartyr; S. With it's amazing level of informationBy Tom MiduraWith it's amazing level of information; I found this reference to be instrumental in helping me get past the many learning curves as this was my first carrier build. The visuals of other carrier builds along with drawings and photos of these amazing ships provided me with information that allowed me to build my first carrier with confidence and made it that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend this reference guide to anyone who enjoys building these amazing model carriers.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Excellent model referenceBy DavidWThis is an excellent reference for the modeler. Vivid color photos plus the basics of aircraft carrier technology as well as model reviews and after market add-ons; makes this an excellent source for your build. I am currently using this as well as other references for my build and have found it to be extremely useful. I would definitely buy this again. This book takes the best of all the other books that offers; gleans the most pertinent information and puts it here at a cost that is way below what the hard copies cost of the other titles.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. This book limits itself to th WW II history of ...By Clifford BossieThis book limits itself to th WW II history of the Essex class carriers and that is a wise decision; as subsequent history would be too much to cover in one volume.. A brief history is given of the class and then a review of the kits and accesories available. There is a final section on built models as well. I found the kit reviews to be very helpful and informative. Those will come in handy when I choose a kit to build. If I had any quibble it would be that there is not enough information on each individual ship. However; that really would not fit the scope chosen for this book.I highly reccomend this book to anyone interested in Essex class boats.
