Detailed Account of the Cover-UpBy Phil SeifertThis is a very detailed account that has been meticulously researched of the events behind hiding and covering up the sinking of the Scorpion. Who knew what and when; who did what and when; details of the various searches prior to the discovery; and finally the revelation that certain people knew exactly where the wreck was from almost day 1. I was hoping the book would have unearthed in as much detail exactly what happened leading up to and the events of the sinking; rather than the cover-up afterwards. I realize that in the late 60's this was information that probably could not be revealed; but now almost 50-years later and after the collapse of the former USSR; if the Russian counterparts are still alive and able to talk; it would be nice if the final story could come out.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. A most interesting tale; this book answers many of ...By Robert AbelA most interesting tale; this book answers many of the lingering questions concerning the loss of the Scorpion back in 1968. Mr. Offley presents a strong case for the one conclusion that might have started a war back then; I;e; that the sub was attacked and sunk . Dr Ballard's pictures make it clear that there is evidence of a torpedo strike on the sub; and this puts the lie to the official version of what happened. It would also explain certain reports that came out in the so called Russian Spring. This book deserves to be read by everyone.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
