The text in the original journals is difficult to read. When they use the letter "f" to represent "s" it confuses the reader. It seems every sailor that was on the voyage wrote his own memoirs. I can't blame them. They must have needed to the money as times were hard back then.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. adventure with the bark offBy Ronald SladeFor those of us looking for a detailed account of life aboard Cook's ship and his experiences in the Pacific; this book fills the bill.A personal narrative by Cook; interspersed with the author's clarification and comment; gives the reader a good look at the peoples; customs; shipboard experiences and very real dangers which accompanied Cook and his crew.If Captain Bligh's experience was worth a film; Cook's voyages could make subject matter for several of them.
