The author seems to have done a great job putting together facts and interviews from people who were actually involved with the project. Even if you feel that this project was a waste of taxpayer dollars; consider the engineering that went into this project. I'm not an engineer myself; but I am amazed at what these folks accomplished. The Glomar Explorer was an incredible ship built by incredible engineers who accomplished a monumental task (even if they did lose some of the sub). If you are a military history buff; this book is for you. The movie of the same name is good as well and Netflix had this movie on Instant Play at the time of this review.4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. The rest of the story...almostBy J. Scott ShipmanPolmar and White have given us a definitive and comprehensive account of Project Jennifer; and the US effort to recover sunken Soviet era K-129 Golf class submarine. This account is heavy on the details of the mission; and the people who made the mission possible. Parts of "Jennifer" are classified; but Polmar and White have woven together many sources to bring a first-rate accounting. If you read and enjoyed Blind Man's Bluff or Spy Sub; you will probably enjoy this very readable and well-researched story of US engineers; scientists; and business people working together to do the impossible.Highly recommend!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Another view of K-129 and Project AzorianBy Douglas J RizzoFascinating reading. Polmar and White give excellent writing. Great detail and terrific accounting of the project. I believe that they may be a little misleading on the actual recovery and even more so on the reason K-129 sank; but none the less great detail. A good companion book to Red Star Rogue; by Sewell. Highly recommended.
