In 1938 and 1939; via a movement known as the Kindertransport; thousands of Jewish children were taken from Nazi-occupied territories to safety in Great Britain. They came to a new family; a new country; and a new life. Approximately 250 of these children were sponsored by Christadelphians; a small Christian group. Often the Holocaust is considered in terms of statistics: how many perished and how many were affected; so much so that at times the individual stories are lost in the numbers. This series examines the experiences of the individuals who came to England as children; and lived with Christadelphians. Ten of these child survivors; and their families; participated in the effort to bring about this first volume. These are their stories.

If you're looking for an unbiased picture of Colonial America; this book is for you!By Fundacion EfrainPatriot Preachers makes an important contribution by giving this generation a screenshot of the events leading up to the Revolutionary War through the eyes of American colonists as opposed to the filtered viewpoint presented in history books today.The sermon style of the day often seemed more like political speeches or lectures than our contemporary preaching; however; I learned many things: tyranny experienced consistently; the feeling conveyed of unjust treatment; and the need to redress grievances and the call to arms for preservation and to defend themselves. All of which was equally recognized by loyalists.These preachers confirmed that against odds 13 separate colonies came together under one banner and unanimously chose of George Washington to lead the Continental army. They uniformly recognized "Heaven's hand;" and the Sermon of John Rodgers particularly inspired me to thankfulness.All in all; this collection informed and thoroughly challenged me.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
