This second volume is dedicated to the study of a Jewish community in Extremadura on the Eve of the Expulsion from Spain. Based on documents which are now published for the first time; this study reveals the life and surroundings of a community lulled into a false sense of security and endeavoring to build its life in peace while the war against Granada continues. The order for Expulsion came as a blow yet; undaunted; the Jewish community set out on the road to a new destiny.

VERY GOOD READ READ IT PLEASE!!!By jerriI really liked it a lot and have loaned it to a friend already..Our family lost many too and Mr Steinberg sharing his story was hard to read..IT HAPPENED and this book an so many other ones MUST be read by today's youth..Already idiots are saying it "never happened"..what's sad my family NEVER talked about it we saw the tattoos yet covered and they never talked about it and my oldest Son is angry at me as he wants to know. I am 74 all my grandparents ;parents and many of my cousins are dead..so is the history of this for us.....so this book and many like it MUST be read by our youth and future generations...I hear some very scary politicians and shows on TV who deny all of it and the same hatred is being talked and yes am scared..Read this book!!!For it is a story of a real man who survived this horrible piece of history..READ it and Anne Frank's and any other you can read pass them down to the kids or at least talk about it to them..take them to the MUSEUM'S of Tolerance.. We have to... or it will happen again Manny Steinberg story is heart wrenching but true and he lived it!!!!!!60 of 62 people found the following review helpful. An amazing book told by a living man and a great survival story.By adwancoRecently I met the author Mr Steinberg and we connected immediately. He is such a great gentleman and i sensed something special about this warm heart and gentle man.I did not know anything about his life or about his history but i always loved and respected older people no matter where they come from since they represent always an amazing story to be told. Then he gifted me this amazing book which i will cherish since it is a living history and an amazing story of survival and continuation of life despite all what he went through.Out of the ashes came a light and great success.I heard so much about the Holocaust and what people went through but his book made me live it through the eyes of a child who actually experienced the horror for so many years. The book will take you back in time to smell and feel real life and what went through a horrible time of humanity and from that we should learn to never again to have anything like this happen and from that we should learn to love each another and appreciate our differences and respect our cultures.Thank you Mr Steinberg.41 of 41 people found the following review helpful. Outcry: HOlocaust MemoirsBy C. YatesThis book is a wonderful first-hand telling of the years this man spent in Nazi Germany/Poland during WWII. He was fourteen when the Nazi took over and was in the ghetto seeing many friends and neighbors murdered in the streets outside his third story window. His mother had died giving birth to his youngest brother and his father remarried so the family was five Jewish people watching the world and unbelieving. Finally the day came when his family was loaded onto the train and separated into those horrible lines when the Jewish people already knew what the lines meant.... his step-mother and young brother in one line...his father and middle brother in the work line for the work camps. His brother had the foot of his and the foot of the person on the other side slipped under his feet to look older/taller so he could be in his brother's line. The father and brothers stayed together all through the war...horrendous as it was; the carrying of rocks; cleaning latrines; etc. just to keep busy. At one time Manny was able to work in a factory but that did not get to last long...many times he was saved by the grace of God and he often asked WHY??If you like the history of the holocaust and WWII you must read this personal account from this author now living in America. My book was downloaded onto my Kindle and you can get yours now from . I do recommend it.
