Dr. Ralph A. Wooster has written extensively on the Civil War and "Lone Star Regiments in Gray;" is his third book from Eakin Press that chronicles the involvement of Texans in the Civil War. In this book he documents the organization; leadership; and combat experiences of each of the seventy-eight regiments from Texas that served in the Confederate army. Also included is a history of the thirty-five Confederate artillery batteries from Texas. Dr. Wooster is a past president of the Texas State Historical Association and the East Texas Historical Association. He spent his academic career at Lamar University where he was Chairman of the History Department.
