Essential guide to Samuel booksBy A CustomerWhenever one wants to learn the bible; you get to the stage that you need good literturic analysis of the text. Dr. Fokkelman does that most succesfully. He demonstrates reccuring events in the book; similiar words that hint for similiar behind-the-scenes things; or the hidden message of the prophet who wrote the book. It is not a required reading for everybody; but if you want to learn (and teach) the book of Smauel (and really the whole bible) seriously; this book is very recommended.
