To paraphrase Churchill "The free world owes much to those few true; little known; hero's and heroine's such as Nancy Wake. She died at age 95 in 2011. Other than an obit in the NY Times; and few other papers; she died in obscurity. I had only heard of her by accident through a recommendation from .I strongly recommend this read to anyone who is interested in learning what good humans; as opposed to talkers; have done for the true benefit of the human race.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. AmazingBy CustomerWhat people face and how they withstand adversity and triumph is amazing. This woman made a difference in WWII by leading a resistance cell. Her husband made a difference be resisting torture; never revealing where to find her.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great woman; great bookBy Lilith RoswynLoved this story of a brave woman fighting for France any way she could. To have lost so much and still have the will to do the things she did; took gumption and a stout heart! Fierce woman!
