The book itself marvels at the fact of Polynesians being able to colonize and control the vast Pacific Ocean thousands of years before Europeans arrived in the region. The author does not belittle the achievements of the people from the region; he speaks of them with high respect and it's an unbiased view of what they Polynesians have done; would have done and think of the situation their homeland is in at the time of original publication. In terms of myths and legends; you can read of different types. All over the region which is very good if you want to have a broad understanding of Polynesian mythology or pre-contact customs.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
