I liked Joel Kraemer's book too; which is heavier on his life and the background medieval world of which Maimonides was a part; but this book is better if you are intersted in Maimonides' thought and works. Also good for issues related to Maimonides' thought is Marvin Fox's book on Maimonides and his interpretters. Marc Shapiro's paperback on Maimonides isn't bad either; but some of the essays are so detailed they are a bit tedious to read.14 of 18 people found the following review helpful.
