O'neilIf you are interested in Russian/Soviet History this book gives a great insight into one of the MAIN characters of the 20th century...and he is not ashamed of his actions...He lived a long life and was mentally active until the end....Likely he is telling "HIS" version of things but what is unique about this book is that Molotov met with Felic Chuev over a period of 17 years and answered most questions .... Molotov is filtered by Felix Chuev and I believe is as close to an Autobiography we can get....Most high level Communists did not believe in writing Memoirs .... not until the 1980's did such books appear.........1 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great Purge and the lesser purges of the post WWII ...By CustomerNotes from his softball questioning by another Stalin true-believer. Molotov provides more details than one really wants to know about the Stalin years without ever discussing in detail the Ukrainian famine; Great Purge and the lesser purges of the post WWII period. Nevertheless it provides a useful insight into how probably Stalin viewed himself (as a dedicated Leninist defending Communism from an army of heretics).0 of 1 people found the following review helpful.
