Carefully researched and full of great information; but also a page-turner that even manages to succeed at humor; despite the subject matter. I'ved owned this book for years and I still take it off the shelf regularly. Truth is stranger than fiction; and this book does a great job of reminding us. The companion volume; "Medical Histories of Union Generals" is not as readable (though still quite good).
