Shows how both political parties tried to use a Lincoln myth in the years after his death. Lincoln the myth was different than the real Lincoln. I felt the Lincoln revealed in this book was just as memorial as the Lincoln myth. A somewhat dry read. Lincoln was an experienced politician. A story line that often gets lost today. Good read if you are interested in the "real" Lincoln.3 of 3 people found the following review helpful.
