THE SEMINARY TRAINING OF MINISTER LOUIS FARRAKHAN: This book is a collection of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad's first major body of writings. They cover the years 1956-1959. They cover his deep spiritual and religious teachings. They also introduce his practical scripture based solutions to the plight of Black People in America. These articles also form the seminary training of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This volume is of great value to those who want to study the Nation of Islam and its leader the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. It is of great value also to those who want to explore the root of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan's dynamic and far reaching ministry that has captivated Black youth and Blacks throughout the diaspora for nearly 40 years during his rebuilding of the Nation of Islam in America.

Solid history; drier than expected in parts.By DougpoundWhile well written; definitely more of a reference book than something that is enjoyable to read through. Malkiel does a great job of explaining each school's process of deciding on how to proceed with co-education: Harvard; Yale; Princeton; Dartmouth; Wellesley; Vassar; Smith; and Oxford and Cambridge. The quality of each section is a direct function of how much access that she got as a historian. The Princeton; Vassar; and Wellesley sections were especially strong; but the others--notably Harvard and also the English Universities--were much drier. Some of the most interesting parts relates to how the different universities were reacting to each other--more of that would have been welcome as the thematic issues are far more interesting to me than the mechanical process that is more similar than different in each US school. Nevertheless; with the 50th year of co-education upon us at many of these schools; it will deservedly be well-read by the many who will want to reflect back on these changes.2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.
