Rostad was 16 years old when the Nazis conquered her home city of Brussels in 1940. She joined the resistance movement; serving in Belgium and later France; primarily as a courier of underground documents. At the end of World War II; Rostad met U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Allen Rostad.

Unit is one of distinction in that it used bpomber pilots to fight in a singlr pioloted aircraft to fight at night. As the was went on the units flew even in the day time. Book has a lot of pictures and line drawing in it. Covers the other units such as 301 and 302 groups that flew the same missions.
