Wadsworth (9th Maine) and Major George W. Sabine (first Maine Heavy Artillery) from Eastport Maine. The book contains both letters and diary's content concerning the Civil War and it's effect on a Maine Island and it's contribution to the war effort. There is more content on the 9th Maine than can be found in any other source. A lot of first hand information about the war can be found here.
