Description

Incredible True Holocaust Survivor Stories From World War 2: Accounts Of Holocaust History If there is one thing that can be said about humanity; it is that we are true survivors. From wars to natural disasters; man has managed to bring himself back from the brink of destruction. Of these many disasters we have faced head on; none can be more telling than the two World Wars. As the names suggest; the whole world felt the impact of these wars; shook from the intangible tremors that spread to the entire globe. The Second World War in particular; was something of a power play; where millions lost their lives because one group believed in the power of their hegemony over all the rest. The Holocaust could; perhaps; be described as the most disastrous and devastating man-made storm the world has ever seen. Called Ho-Shoah in Hebrew; the entire Second World War was nothing but state sponsored murder of those a dictator believed to be beneath him; simply because they were born different. From Jews to homosexuals; millions were persecuted; and it took the western nations coming together to stop this madness. This ‘sacrifice by fire’ – which is what the name itself means – can be taken as a true example of humanity’s darker side; which seeks to control and make others submit to its will. To put it simply; the Holocaust remains a stark reminder of how dark humanity can truly be...

It is astounding to know that someone like her used to exist. The trauma and the torture all those people experienced in her hands are beyond words. She died young at 22; but as I was reading this book; I hoped she died earlier. It is heartbreaking to know that all this came about because of a flawed fanaticism and a traumatic childhood. My childhood isn't pretty but I would never let other people go through what I had been through. She is a very different case. She derived pleasure from it all. Highly disturbing but an excellent read.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. good readBy Nancy DowsIf you want to learn about the German history at the time of the Hollocaust in which the Nazi Party under the leadership of Adolf Hitler and their supporters slaughtered killed; brutally beaten approximately 12 million people of Jews; Serbs; communists; gypsies; Soviet prisoners of war then this book will be a very useful read for you. The book at first gives an overview of the war then it provides an overview of the hollocaust; then it discuses the life of Irma Grese in particular. As I am interested in history especially the era of the world war 1 and 2 I enjoyed reading this book very much.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. I enjoyed reading about the life of Irma GreseBy CustomerI enjoyed reading about the life of Irma Grese; I know there are lots of books written about her. There are ongoing studies and documentaries about her; however; I doubt that she's a notorious woman as opposed to what others think. Her life is so interesting and I admire that she strongly handle her childhood days. Like her; I was a victim and barely did well at a school. In this book; her father joined the Nazis when she was 14 years old and there are still no findings why Alfred Grese joined the party. However; I am slightly assuming that Irma joined too because she was influenced by her father.
