Unlike most history books; this one's story is presented in the context of a plot which keeps the reader wanting to find out what happens. But; the history is all there; too. And; because there is a story arc; it might be easier to remember the details.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Better than expectedBy Hiroku-hirokuBetter than expected. I was fully engrossed with the characterisation of the Early USN leadership. While nothing could replace the experience of actually having served under S..Decatur one gets the impression that it was a chaotic age. Lost messages; lengthy delays and opaque and broad definitions of orders. Amazing that anyone survived the experience.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. gift for my dad.
