The individual narratives brought together here reveal insight into the two hundred year struggle for possession of Jerusalem; in the words of two soldiers who participated first-hand in the bloody campaigns. Geffroy de Villehardouin (1150-1212?) was an appointed marshal of Champagne; France; whose "Conquest of Constantinople" recounts the controversial Fourth Crusade of 1204; against Eastern Christians in the Latin empire of Constantinople. Jean de Joinville (1224-1317) inherited the office of seneschal of Champagne at a young age; and wrote "Life of Saint Louis" after having accompanied King Louis IX on his first crusade and later living as a friend in his court. These accounts; originally composed in Old French; are considered to be some of the most accurate portrayals of the Crusades; and give fascinating insight into the religious and political fervor that sparked centuries of brutal battles and the struggle for holy conquest.

In the book; Joel examines three different groups of people in the Muslim world. The RADICALS are followers of Jihad. They believe that Islam is the answer and Jihad is the way. They follow the teachings of Osama bin Laden and Ayatollah Khomeini. Their teachings encourage suicide bombers to blow themselves up. They believe that ultimately the entire world will be conquered by the Muslim faith. The REFORMERS are Muslims who believe that Islam is the answer but Jihad is not the way. They are followers of the political philosophy of Thomas Jefferson. They feel that more Muslim nations need to follow democratic principles of government where there is personal freedom; representative government; and freedom from oppression. The REVIVALISTS are those who believe that Islam is not the answer; and Jihad is not the way. They are Muslim Background Believers who follow the teaching of Jesus Christ. Throughout the Muslim world many people are coming to believe in Jesus as Savior; not just as a prophet. The third section of the book is the most exciting because the author shares many stories of how Muslims are meeting Jesus in dreams and visions and choosing to follow Jesus. In many Muslim nations; there are reports of many people becoming followers of Jesus in spite of the great personal cost and potential danger they face. Many of the Muslim Background Believers came to Jesus because someone witnessed to them or encouraged them to read the Bible. Once they start to be learn about Jesus; many of them report that Jesus actually appeared to them. So; I think our strategy to reach Muslims should be two pronged: first; we must do everything we can to reach out to Muslims; second; we must trust Jesus to work with us to change lives. Here is another book that will encourage you to reach out to Muslims to tell them about Jesus.Soul Winning: Inspiration for Leading People to Jesus0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Inside the RevolutionBy Janet PrevostVery informative and easy to understand. Joel Rosenberg presents the facts only and supports his research with personal experience and many interviews with professional people who have been there and done that. If you have the desire to know what's going on in the world right now; don't hesitate to pick up this book. I had never understood the happenings in the Middle East and the underlying problems until I started reading this book. You may want to read Epicenter-the other book written by Joel Rosenberg which helps untangle the confusion about what the Bible says will happen in the end of days and how that relates to what is happening today in the world.
