Liberalism is THE error of our times. It is essentially the mistaken notion that one religion is as good as another and that people have a right freely to choose whatever religion suits them best. The author calls Liberalism "the monster of our times;" "the evil of all evils;" "a deadly heresy;" "a living lion going about seeking whom he may devour." Further; he states: "Liberalism and Catholic Liberalism have been explicitly condemned by Pius IX." Again; "Liberalism of every degree and all forms has been formally condemned; so much so that outside the motives of its intrinsic malice; it stands under the formal ban of the Church; which is sufficient for all faithful Catholics. It would be impossible for an error so widespread and so radical to escape condemnation." "Liberalism Is a Sin" is a translation and an adapted version of "El Liberalismo es Pecado;" written and published in 1886 in Spain. Yet it reads as if it were written today! Unfortunately; its comments are even more germane today than when it first appeared. In this book; all shades of the deadly error of Liberalism are exposed and the antidote for combatting Liberalism is carefully outlined. Like a cleaver; this book chops through the mushy; non-logical thinking of Liberalism - which infects most people today; including; sadly; the majority of Catholics. With Liberalism almost universally triumphant in our times; it can be categorically stated that no Catholic book in print today is more potent that "Liberalism Is a Sin;" and none is more deserving our studied attention.

The book format has you making choices about tactical situations but when there is a good or poor outcome; there is very little information about why your decision and the outcome was good or poor. There are also many times where the author just asks you to roll dice to determine your fate which leaves you wondering what the lesson is.Worst of all; there is no chapter in the book that has a summary of the tactical situation or situations and actually teaches you how to review the tactical situation like a training soldier would. All in all; you can barely learn any tactics unless you are willing to make an investment of many hours reading the book multiple times to try to extract information in very small pieces.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Imaginative design but not about leadership...By Stephen Armstrong...which is why I had purchased this book; that is; thinking it would have something to do with leadership. In this fictional; interactive account; a newly minted West Point Lt is given a rifle platoon and faces overwhelming odds against him. The reader makes choices throughout the book; usually about tactical decisions; which leads the reader down a "decision field;" usually to the reader's own demise. This is imaginative. However; the basic principles of leadership are not discussed; other than working together; making sound and timely decisions; maintaining positive communications; and so forth.
