It is obvious that much time and effort went in to polishing the material (not surprising; it is after all the 5th Edition). Pretty much each page gives you ideas to ponder. This book was written as a text to an undergraduate course; and for that purpose it gives a coherent multi-dimensional view of the subject; each chapter suggests relevant websites; and there is a 23 page bibliography. All in all; it gives one a good jumping off point for a serious study of stratification theory.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
