It appears to be a good analysis of the japanese Submarine in WWII.By FlickerThis gave a good insight into the Japanese thinking during WWII in regards of the uses of the submarine. At times they were trying to bring the war to the American coast; but with little result although their torpedoes appear to be more potent than the American ones.0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Small but quite useful guide to the IJN's WW2 submarines.By Kalikiano KaleiThis is a relatively small reference work on the IPN submarines of the 30s 40s; but it is packed with useful information and some excellent illustrations. I have used it as a handy 'quick reference' several times already and am quite happy to have it on my shelf. If you have no other; larger; more amplified reference work on Japan's amazingly advanced submarines available; this one is perfect!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. DisappointmentBy StyreneaholicHaving several of Mr. Stille's other books I was anticipating a great addition to my IJN and Naval references. Unfortunately I am very disappointed by the lack of material in this volume and the significant omissions of the b1 series attacks on Sydney and Darwin and the mini submarines deployed by the IJN. Nothing new here and not a great compilation of readily available material.
