The book includes personal reminiscences from Union and Confederate women living in Winchester; Virginia; a town that reportedly changed hands 76 times during the war; and the reactions of Southern women to the surrender at Appomattox.

It was his 'early open' present on Christmas Eve when we celebrated with his family. He became so engrossed he didn't want to open anything else. I had already purchased "Modern Military Aircraft" that is in the same layout format; so now the two books make a great set.
