I enjoyed that it was written by someone in Harriet's time; except that some of the terminolgy is confusing. A Black Woman who left her mark on history.By Bonnie McKinzieHarriet Tubman was born to a free man and a slave woman. Her life was hard and she abhorred slavery for her people. She sustained a head injury while helping an escaping slave. Her free Black husband was not supportive of her activities. Learning she was to be sold; Harriet planned an escape; however her brothers made her return. She finally did escape; using the underground railroad. Harriet was a family woman; and could not rest until she helped her sister and brother escape. I wish it would have gone a little deeper into the life of harriet tubman; however I thought it was still a good book.
